we are currently stationed in effingham, il (crossroads of opportunity, in case you've been looking for it) waiting out some tornadic activity on our way back to the windy west. (attention mother nature: please leave the good people of the great plains alone.) sitting in a days inn (classy) drinking some old style (classier) and watching some court tv.
our vacation is coming to an end and we're more than exctied to get back to kansas. we love love love to travel, but we're also pretty committed to our animals, and since most of them can't come with us, we usually find ourselves craving some (furry) family time by the end of a road trip.
the nice thing about having a dog is that he can come with you. gus is a great travel companion, save for the constant suffocating farts from the backseat (feed a dog a meximelt...). he's a little big for his space, but he does what he can, contorting and shifting to get comfortable. gus is a master of making himself sleep (he gets that from paul) and generally only opens his eyes when we slow down to pull into a town or a taco bell.
on this excursion, i've caught a few priceless pics of the goobs, living and loving life on the road.
