people. please stop leaving. these going away parties are getting out of hand.
here's a thought. someone move here and we'll have a coming here party. any takers?
pgc and i are trying to eat a bit healthier, i may have mentioned. it should prove to be a fruitless effort, due to the aforementioned parties and vacations. florida was a bit of a bummer, so we broke away when we could to drown our sorrows in a puddle of florescent wing sauce and miller lite.
though it's hard (so so so hard) for me to do, i actually spent more money at the store this week to buy the healthy things. the poultry versions and actual vegetables, not cans of the creamed kind. why are clear arteries such a luxury?
see, we just got our blood test results back...and well, one of us needs to watch our cholesterol. and our sodium. etc. etc. (hint:it's not me.) gotta do what you gotta do, even if you go broke in the process (hint: i'd rather have paul around than 1 million dollars--but if given the option i'd like to have both).
before celia and yancey left, they gave me a (stolen--but that's a story for another day) beach bike. once we get the tires pumped and the chain greased, you'll be able to find me cruisin' the heights all the time (that's the idea, anyway). so that will cover the exercise portion of getting healthier, right?
getting healthier also needs to include a mental aspect, of course, so i'm thinking about boycotting the television anytime before 9pm. now, what i really want is to avoid the computer...but seeing as how i'm on one 9 hours a day for professional purposes, that's just not possible. it's just silly to sit in front of the tv when it's still light outside, no? even if porch reading is a viable activity 11 months out of the year in this doesn't make it any less awesome. and i finally bought some bugspray.
9pm seems reasonable. and that's when house hunters comes on.
anyway. getting healthier is always one of those boring, rather lame, conversations that generally translates into, "so, i'm thinking about getting really really boring." at least that's how i always interpret it. (no drinks, no tacos, lots of running=dull.) but don't worry folks, this is the last i'll speak of it.
though you do want to know when this resolution crumbles, right? well, talk to me saturday--or come to our second going away party in as many weeks and see it for yourself.
gargles from the rat race choir.

Actually for me exercise is the opposite of boring. After doing some lunges, I find previously mundane activities such as sitting and standing become quite entertaining.
